your buddy would have a bad time if you give him up at 10 years old . you will break his heart and maybe his spirit . dogs grow attached to people so much . and 10 years is a long time . farm the dog out maybe during hunting season and have him send the rest of the year with you . i've raised dogs for 30 years and i would never do something like that . dogs get depressed if they are not around their owner . at 2-4 years would be the oldest that i would give 1 away .
