I am told that "the breed" for tracking is the wirehaired dachshund. I am new to this training, but I believe any dog with a good nose can do the job. I think the impotant thing is getting a dog with a strong hunting bloodline.
I am training an airedale terrier to blood scent. He is doing great. He found one deer for me this year and is doing great on the bloodlines. He is 1 1/2 years old.
