Although deer tracking dogs are illegal in Missouri, I believe there is an underground movement that uses dogs to trail wounded deer. I recently rescued an Alpine Dachsbracke that had been found wandering loose and turned in to a local shelter. The Dachsbracke looks like a mix between a dachsund and a hound. It's origin is from Austria and Germany, where it's used for trailing deer, fox and boar. I'd love to meet other dachsbracke owners in the U.S. Are you out there?
