I say that as long as he found the deer, then there was nothing wrong with what he did and that other good dogs would do the same. Of course it would have been better if the deer had been downwind so that your dog could have worked a bit more on the trail. Sounds like youve got yourself a good tracking dog though. Congrats to you.
