Actually in Virginia things are moving in a right direction. If you go to the Virginia Board of Game and Inland Fisheries Meeting Minutes from June 7, 2007 there is a paragraph there: "Mr. Robert Kane, Brightwood, Virginia spoke on behalf of the Virginia Dog Hunting Owner’s Association regarding the proposed regulation concerning the use of tracking dogs to recover injured or wounded game. The Association supports this regulation concept. Mr. Montgomery thanked him for his remarks."
We sold a number of puppies last summer to Virginia hunters and one of them wrote to me: "Virginia is just this year recognizing the use of dogs for blood tracking. It has never been formally written in the regulations but
it will be soon. Jim and Sherry Crumley are local here and are good friends of mine. Jim is the inventor of Trebark camoflage and Sherry
is Chairperson of Virginia's Game and Inland Fish. Jim and Sherry have brought the issue to the game and fish recently. They have
acknowledged the need and will incorporate the issue in the regulations in the near future."
