There are many kinds of dogs that people use depending on their needs, uses, & location. You can use small hound breeds (any hound is great with the kids)or several of the same terriers, pointers, & retrievers.
Take a look at unitedbloodtrackers.org. They track wounded game & have a photo gallery of the dogs their members use.
