I did finish the trail and no he has been on 24 hour + trails for about 4 months now. He even found a 48 hour old trail once when I had something come up and couldn't track at 24 hours. I am not sure what happened. It was the first time that I had this happen. He was fired up to go when he saw his leash and knew what we were about to do but he just couldn't make the line. I encouraged him and he still got a lot of praise when we found the hide. He has trailed at night numerous times so I don't think that was a factor.
