Derek, sounds like you have a great enthusiasm for training... If you don't already have the book advertised to the left of this message board :
"Tracking dogs for Finding wounded Deer" by John you wanna get it.
I have little little little experience but i have been doing better than I expected so i think you'll be fine doin it.
I write two threads on message boards with pics and alot of details if you want to see how another novice is doin it. (although be sure that I am still learning and could lead you astray) but if you want to look you are welcome :
go to either marylandwhitetail.com or ArcheryTalk.com and search for the username genuine -this is me and I only have a few threads in either. I train every Sunday and put a new post in every week with lost of pics.
