hi derek , the blue healer is a cattle dog so it should work . my bulldogs track but they can't do trails over 10 hours 
without keeping there minds on the job . my Bgs 's will do 24-72 hours . on the off season just get some pig blood or goat blood . all the dog know is it's blood . i don't know of any schools . it's not as hard as you would think . the main thing is to have a pup or dog that likes to go hunting . the more interest you have the dog will watch you and start showing you how the dog works . a trained dog from a good trainer for basic human tracking is $8000 . so you can see it can cost alot to get a trained dog .
