Daniel, how old of a dog are you looking for?
And what price range are you thinking about? I believe that we had this discussion last year at the start of Hunting season on this site.
A tracking dog most likely will start around $2500.-$5000. and a young dog with limited experience will be in the $1500.00 Plus range.
If you have not trained or worked with the dog yourself then you will be at an disadvantage. You must understand the dogs habits and behavioral patterns when tracking. This is hard to do from an older dog(but you can learn). One reason we all suggest start with a pup and learn together.
I do not wish to sound like I am preaching, but there is no short cuts to tracking.
