When should u start training a dog to blood trail 4,5 mths?

Hi , i have just got a Jack Russel that is 3.5 months old, I am beginging to take it to the park for walks and getting it to get exposure out doors. I will soon bring it to the woods so that it get family in walking in the bush. When do I start introducing it to blood trail, starting with 10 feet, then 20ft............so on?
