I can only speak reference the BMH. There are only 2-3 breeding pair in the USA. Most BMH in the US are under the age of 2 years. It is recommended that this breed not be bred until 2.5 or 3 years old. BMH from oversea are regulated by the Bavarian kennel club and qualification of the breeding stock. If the dogs have not completed certain test then they can not be bred (very good system) Most owners will only breed their female every 18-24 months whci also controls the pupies. The BMH is a very hard dog to find but if you do your search you can locate a litter. Know what you want and talk to people who will give you references. I have imported 4 BMH into the US and I haven't lost any money or a puppy, assisted with 2 more imports. Just know who you are dealing with. Good luck
