what do you do when your dog getts spooked ?

i have a WHD from rabbit hunting back ground . the dog was doing real good on blood trails until we were hunting and i shot a pig . we tracked the pig into the pine trees and come up on some that were laying by a dead tree . well they did' move until we were to close . now the dog is shy . how do i get him back to tracking .
