Lot of the M16's they use are Japanese made prop guns, they are recognizeable by hte odd/fake FWD assist bulge. These still turn up in films today.

: my hat goes off to em cause it looks just
: like the one i was shootin the other
: day...didnt think about any firing
: attachments either...anyway i was just givin
: people somethin to occupy there time with :
: ) so hope it worked you guys have a great
: day and a great week too ...seems like i
: only come here once a week now

: It probably would not stay up all day.
: Rather it would bob for a while.
: Eventually, the
: weight of the water entering the barrel
: would be enough to sink it.
:
: Also, in the show, you should consider that,
: if it was a real M-16 and not a wooden prop,
: if it was being fired, it would have a blank
: firing attatchment device embedded in the
: barrel -- that's how they can fire blanks
: and make it look real. Without the blank
: firing attatchment, the rifle would fire
: once, then it would have to be cocked
: again, fired once, then cocked again. The
: in the barrel attatchment would stop up the
: barrel, preventing water from entering, so
: it could float for a while.
