Do M-16's Float?

I think not, In the episode "Road-Runner" torwards the beggining of the episode Sgt. Anderson gets knocked out in a rice paddy...his rifle is floating in the water...anybody else noticed this?...This is my favorite episode and Ive watched it at least a million times and just now noticed
