of my regiment. One night, a young gunner was talking to his Lieutenant and made the
mistake of saying "oh, LT". His little world came crashing down. First, the Lieutenant
barked at him -- "What did you just call me? You will address me either as Lieutenant, or

(otherwise known as God to the Junior Ranks). Once the Lieutenant was finished chewing
out this poor gunner (who probably wished he was being used as a cleaning stave by now),
he was turned over to the tender mercies of the RSM. He did pack drill for an hour (that's where you have to perform drill at light infantry pace -- 120 paces/movements per minute, as opposed to the normal 90 paces/movements per minute, while wearing a 60 pound rucksack. It was the first and last time anyone in my regiment would refer to a Lieutenant as LT.
