Yeah, at this time these shoes were "in" in some regions of Germany. You could see them on every other street corner - I thought that the girls wear them to appear taller than they actually are.
Some girls wore extra long trousers as well to hide that they had faked their real height with that platoe shoes.
...but you made a good point with that floor length hair *lol*
