Moldy, go to auto club Famoso and click on their home page Latest News and Press releases. Scroll down to Marsh Meet is no Drag to Kern County economy. It gives the dollar statiscs in that artical. I think one of the things that hurt all forms of motorsports is the fact that very few racers haul there race cars on open trailers like back in the day, so most people dont ever think about race cars. I rember when I was a kid if I saw a race car on the highway I would make my Dad speed up just so I could look. I know we cant stop technoligy and in todays world most people haul ther race cars in enclosed trailers, So that could be one reason people dont take racing very serious, Ill say one thing, even though the economy is bad, RACERS will continue to race no matter what, they always do. Basicly the racers are a stimulus package. Ive run two races this year already and we had overflow car counts at both events. The MARCH MEET alone cut off excepting entries at 500 cars. So the racers are definetly stimulating the economy. Lets let the city officals see what else they can come up with to compete with the racers money they are letting get away, because they dont want to be bothered with supporting a new track in the AV. I guess I have rattled on long enough. Hope this info helps Moldy. Im here to help.

: I see on Famosos web site this morning, that
: they expect to bring to the city of
: Mcfarland about 5 and a half million dollars
: from the crowd at the March Meet, down a
: little from last years 6.6 million, but the
: economy is down a little this year. I would
: think the city of Palmdale could do the same
: thing if they would do the same thing at the
: defunct airport that they have ties to. This
: is just one event, doesnt this city see what
: they are missing out on? Racing nowdays is
: big bussiness not a back street activity. We
: need another track in this valley and this
: city needs to move on it. Thats enough for
: now , but Im not done yet.
