I have had my gripes with Bernie and LACR in the past (who hasn't had a complaint about a track at some point in their career, right?) but I've got to say that the Last Race Event was the collest event I have ever been a part of. It was great seeing the track so busy that I couldn't get back to my pit. I had the pleasure of winning one of the Wally's at 1:30 a.m. on Saturday and I will remember every moment of it. I will cherish that trophy more than any of the others. It is truly sad to see this track close down. Despite the poor track conditions (due to weather and sand) and the dirt in the motorhome I will truly miss the track where I learned how to win. I am a young racer so I don't share nearly as many memories as most here but I will alway remember my very first win and 2 others at the famous LACR. Bernie, thank you to you, your family, and your staff. It truly was a great last event and an incredible run here in California. Good luck at the new track!
