They eventually discover that Cindy (Bruce’s wife) and Chelsea (daughter) were the innocent victims of a street racing incident, and campaign to bring the at-fault driver, 17-year-old Justin Gutierrez (Shiloh Fernandez), to justice. But when the case is finally heard in court, Bruce Murakami’s powerful desire for revenge is suddenly replaced by an equally powerful desire to transform his tragic loss into something positive. Over the initial objections of his sons Brody (Landon Liboiron) and Josh (Ryan Kennedy), Murakami forges an unlikely alliance with the young man who killed his wife and daughter.
