I learned the music to this song sixty years ago
when I was a teenager. I never heard of the words
until several years later, I heard it over my car
radio. I had no paper to write it down. I remem-
bered the title, " Down at Pappa Joe's."
Later, my children loved it when I played it on
the piano. They nicknamed it "Pickle Beans". I
am so happy to finally know all the lyrics. My
family and friends learned to sing it while I
played it on my piano. Now at every family
gathering we have so much fun together.
