Thank you so very much. These are nice lyrics, just not the same as the song my daddy would sing. Still looking for a song with this line: "Oh, don't you ever forget, your silver gray-haired Daddy..." And that is all I can remember.
Gene Autrey may be the right time period, he watched all the old timey cowboy shows. He would have been singing it to me in early 1950's.
