I am hoping someone can help me. My auntie is wondering about the poem that is recited as the lead in to the song Carrickfergus by the Clancy Brothers.
The first goes like this:
He stumbled home from Clifden fair
With drunken song and cheeks aglow.
Yet there was something in his air
That told of kingship long ago
I turned, and inly burned with grief
That one so high should fall so low.
