CC developed this ritual with me. At one point the upstairs neighbor always seemed to have something leaking in his utility closet which then dripped down into mine. There were a few times when I had checked my closet before going to work or after work, with CC on my shoulder, that I'd discovered a mess from above. I guess I involuntarily screeched because from then on whenever I checked the closet with her on my shoulder, no matter if there was a leak or not, she always let out this screech. She'd then turn her head to look directly into my face and grin. (If a tiel can grin, which I believe they can).
Even though I won't get another bird I'm thankful to have had 22 years with them. They probably extended my life. When I became educated about them, from then on I used only vinegar and water or baking soda for cleaning and stopped using nonstick including irons.
