Other than that, there are things this could be, mouse poop, or bug poop, or bug eggs....
If you can get someone, the vet, or someone yo know, to put some gloves and a mask on ( just in case) and try to cut them up, dissect them. You should be able to tell if it's a seed if it's uniform when cut in half. Might need a magnifying glass. Or try to mash one... see if it is really hard, in which case it's a seed, or mushy ( fresh poop) or kind of powdery ( dry poop).. or if it must squishes, ( bug egg).
Might need a really good magnifying glass. I enlarged the pic, but I really can't tell. They look like seeds... But, to be sure, you'd want someone to examine them if you can find someone, so you know how to proceed. If it is seeds, maybe take him in for a checkup, to be sure he's not got any issues. If it's mouse/ rat poop, uyou can get humane traps. If bugs, you can get the roach motel things, put them under the microwayve, places like that birdies can't get to.
PLease let us know what you find out. Oh yeah, if it is seeds, maybe get ground flax seed for him, see if that works better. But goodness, why he'd just toss up flax seed and not other kinds, is strange. I'd more expect tehm to come out in his poop than be brought back up once he eats them.
Or you can watch, to see if he's picking them up, and carrying them and dropping them places because he doesn't care for them, or because it's fun... but then, they wouldn't be so dark.
I'd be very interested to know what they are and if they are seeds, why the vet things he'd do that!
