Posted by Caroll Salas Arevalo My mother, Caridad Jaymalin-Salas run for the second district of Sorsogon against the most brilliant Congressman of all times, Vicente Peralta. However, they have always been friends. I met Tita Nena in Sorsogon, Sorsogon while she was running a family hotel but I left for the United States since 1979. I have classmates from Maryknoll College who are also from the other towns of Gubat and Bulan who I have since moved to Washington, D.C. and have established my own accessory business after retiring from Gannett Corporation, the mother company of USA Today and ABC News. My brother, Edgar J. Salas, (based in Manila)was recently asked to be the Fiesta Hermano Mayor in Boton, Casiguran Sorsogon which I believed was under the congressional domain of the late Statesman. Since no progress has been made in that little town..oh.since I was born perhaps, I asked my brother to respond and give back to that little town the best we could as part of our mother's legacy. They've had a church that remained the way it was since I can remember (they only asked for a minor renovation and 6 pews) so we hope that we can ask many foreign based Sorsoganos to go home in May, 20005 for a celebrated homecoming. We plan to build an entrance gate to that little town and maybe a straight white picket fence and tie yellow ribbons to those who dread going back to their roots, plus a White pavilion gazebo for the food, a His/Hers public bathrooms and half a dozen drinking faucets to incoming visitors-which would be helpful. Thank you very much. Please relay the message.
