I am the Vice-President for Academic Affairs of the Cagayan State University, and on the 28th of August, of the President of the Philippines together with the University President, Dr. Roger Perez, will dedicate the Tuguegarao Campus to the memory of Claude Andrews. The plaque that I drafted that will memorialize Mr. Andrews reads:
LET ALL WHO SET FOOT ON THESE PRECINCTS OF ACADEME REMEMBER AND HONOR CLAUDE EDGAR ANDREWS (Born 1875, Died 1956). BELONGING TO THAT HARDY, INTREPID AND RIGHTLY REVERED GROUP OF 'THOMASITES' HE ARRIVED IN THE PHILIPPINES IN 1902 AND FOUNDED THE CAGAYAN TRADE SCHOOL FROM WHICH EVOLVED THE CAGAYAN STATE UNIVERSITY. HE, HIS FAMILY AND HEIRS,HAVE BEQUEATHED TO THE STUDENTS AND PROFESSORS OF THIS UNIVERSITY, PRESENT AND FUTURE, THE GIFT OF LAND ON WHICH OUR UNIVERSITY PRESENTLY STANDS, BUT OF FAR MORE ENDURING VALUE, THE PASSION FOR EDUCATION THAT DROVE CLAUDE ANDREWS TO TUGUEGARAO AND THAT WE PRAY THIS CAMPUS THAT WE DEDICATE TO HIS MEMORY WILL KEEP EVER ABLAZE.
I hope this answers your question.
