Posted by Tim on 8/15/2004, 10:05 pm, in reply to "Re: Not happy for long" If you didn't know that a corriente's head is lower than his shoulders, you've neglected to observe one that's trying to outrun a horse. The next time you walk out in your pasture and see a high headed corriente, you should realize that he's looking up to see YOU, not running for his life. Yes I'm a heeler and yes, we all know that heelers make better headers. Them horns are mounted right up there on top of their heads... they hide them heels way up underneath and then swing em really fast and half the time they're stuck down in the dirt. I know a lot of left handed ropers.... but they're all heelers. As for the mechanical steer, if you consider hind legs that swing, "mechanical" then yes, I have one. I built one that slides into my receiver hitch and I do take it with me but I am a professional fabricator and I'm too cheap to buy one that's been mass produced. In fact, for those of us who "have been roping since the sun was little and there was no moon at all"(I love that line), dummies are less important. Many things come naturally. To those of us who are learning how to rope later in life, maybe even as adults, maybe even learning to ride at the same time, dummies are critical. Instead of getting angry and trying to insult my abilities, while simultaneously making me aware that you ain't a heeler, why don't you heat those hind legs, bend em forward and spread em and hang em 2 to 3 inches off the ground, and lower that head..... no charge for the research and development revisions. Other than that, it looks like you have good idea with the collapsable, easy storing, self contained product.

I ain't trying to cost you sales, I'm trying to help people with their roping. I've spent lots of time and money learning to team rope, and rope well and I know a lot of mistakes that can be avoided. There are so very many to make, it's important to avoid all the ones that you can.
