For details go to Dragon's Friendly Society site & click on tab which says "DVDs". Basically there are some problems with audio tracks on the copies they have & they're trying to match with other copies held by the BBC ( who have "lost" some of their copies - ie BBC don't have complete set but OP & PF/ DFS do but with problems as stated ) Possibly more worrying though is that it seems only a couple of the as yet never released episodes will be on it ( ie in addition to those which have been previously released ): This seems to be not due to the technical problems as mentioned but because the never before released ones will only be those ones taken from the list of "the select few which Oliver [Postgate] approves" - ie for whatever reasons he isn't happy with all of the as yet unreleased 16 episodes. Which is a shame as I'm sure we'd all enjoy all of them even with whatever the imperfections are which Mr Postgate isn't happy about ( obviously not knowing exactly what it is he doesn't like & not having seen them for donkey's years makes it a bit hard to know what the problem is ) Perhaps if those of us who love the program & would like to see all of it ( or as much as possible ) each send an email to Mr Postgate via the DFS or one of his other websites politely saying how very much we'd like to see all the episodes & that we realize there may be flaws which he is concerned about but we would dearly love to see them "warts & all "; Even if only a couple more additional episodes resulted from this it would be well worth it - especially as if they don't come out on this release it would seem likely that may never ever be released ( especially seeing as the dvd releases of Noggin & Pingwings have been complete - ie of every episode ) The Dradon's Friendly Society is run by Loaf who is its treasurer & organiser of the DVD releases ( it is fine to address him as Loaf - it is the name he uses ) & their email address is : yoohoo@dragonsfriendly.co.uk in case anyone else would like to do this ( & I will do so shortly ) If you know other fans who would also love to see it with all the episodes it would probably be helpful to mention this. If you love the Pogles give it a go if you have the time as it would be a real shame if episodes were to remain unreleased ( & decaying further no doubt) in the archives. Thank you for reading this.
then perhaps - being made more fully aware of people's natural desire for this & our great appreciation of the programs - he might reconsider.
Little Gems seemed the obvious & natural place to post this appeal!
