I too have the 70s video you mention, and that was the "trial run" by Contender, because most of them on that video, with the exception of the freaky Gublins and Manfred, were released in their own right (Crystal Tipps & Alastair, Ludwig, Mary,Mungo & Midge, Fred Basset, Bod)

The now defunct Kult-Kidz branch of Contender brought it out a few years ago on compilations, as well as its own title with 12-13 episodes on it, I forget how many, but I've got the video myself.
