Listen guys, I just became a poolee recently (I'll be in San Diego on Oct. 23), and frankly, suicidal rantings and complaining don't phase me. I have chosen to wait four extra months so that I can become a grunt during the new fiscal year, and I know what I'm getting myself into. I don't expect anything to come easy, and I don't expect to love every command given to me, but I am signing up to become a Marine, I know that I may very well see war, I also know that wars have death. This doesn't keep me from joining, from walking the great path that brave men before me have carved out, and if I honestly hope that no Marine believes that talk of war and suicide can keep those willing to serve from joining. There is nothing like the Brotherhood that Marines share, and there nothing that I want to be part of more.
