Camp Liberty was a place for Marines to stage before entering/leaving Iraq. It was needed primarily due to the large number of reservists sent to the sandbox. Now that the vast majority of reservists have served their two years of active duty and done 2 deployments, there will no longer be many reservists going over. As a result Camp Liberty is no longer needed and I could not be any happier about that. Reservists who have done their two years of active duty and deployments cannot be deployed again for at least three years. Unfortunately the same is not true for active duty Marines.
