Posted by M14 on 3/6/2006, 13:04:26 The regulations say "footwear" can be worn w/ civilian clothing, and boots are listed under "footwear" in the "UNIFORM ITEMS AND REGULATIONS FOR THEIR WEAR" section, paragraph 3012. (There's no "boots" listing.) Someone in the Navy was trying to convince me that they're not authorized.

I am under the impression that the current issue boot is authorized for civilian clothing. Am I right about this? I have seen many Marines wear those boots with their blue jeans. (I know that at OCS/TBS they might not want the new officers wearing them that way, but I'm specifically wanting to know about what the usual rule is for Marines.)
