have great little 'splitters' for surge protectors so that all those peripherals (scanners, some printers) that have those big boxy plugs that hog space only use as much as a regular plug. They come in two varieties. One is a plug that has a 4" wire and a recepticle for the AC plug. Another is one plug with two 4" wires and two recepticles, allowing two AC plugs to use only one surge recepticle.
