Posted by pat on 1/22/2002, 5:17 pm Set up the screen and invite each student to touch their choice. The usage counter will automatically tally the votes for you. This is a really fun way to make a student's AAC device useful to the whole class (won't that make the student feel great?!) and to acquaint students with polling and voting.
Did you know you could use a dynamic display device that has a "usage counts" option as a classroom voting machine? Turn on the usage counter on a Dynavox or Speaking Dynamically and create a screen that offers options to be voted on (a public or class election, your own "Oscars," who will win the Super Bowl, where to go on a field trip, what to serve or do at a class party, etc.).
