Co-Writer 4000 by Don Johnston is a terrific program for weak spellers and those needing auditory feedback. It has a word prediction program so that if a student misspells a word, it provides a list for him to choose from, and also will read the word/sentences aloud. There's also a new program called Read and Write that is similar - you may be able to scan text into the computer and have it read back when opened in a word file. There are several 'dictation' type programs out there, but they do require training, and are not highly reliable, depending on the students cognitive abilities and the environment you will be using the program in. For very low children, there are picture to text writing programs - Pix Writer. Good luck!
