And while we're on the topic, do you always use a surge suppressor? If you don't like lugging a long strip around with you, you can get little individual or twin socket suppressors for about $8 at hardware and discount stores. Just a word to the wise..... :-)
To prevent damage to any electrical components (including computers and AAC devices), ALWAYS make sure you plug the adaptor into the wall first, THEN plug the adaptor into the computer or device.
