color printing vs. black and white

I am trying to convince administrators that I need a color printer for my s/c classroom. All students have autism as their primary category of eligibility. A couple have aug-com devices, and the others are on various spots on the spectrum, Grades 1-4. Know of any research that shows the value of color images over black/white/grey for certain stages of development or understanding?
