I've used video self modeling for a child with autism. I would tape his interactions with typically developing children, then edit out all the tantrums and inappropriate behaviors. The finished product showed him using appropriate social language. The student watched the video several times and by watching his own model, we saw a definite increase in appropriate social behavior.
