When I developed the Speaking of Speech.com site, I was completely new to web design...but didn't let that stop me! I used Bigstep, which is one of many Internet sites that helps web-novices create a site. For a fee, you can select from a number of pre-made "shells" into which you can add content without being an expert in HTML or other programming language. While this method has its constraints, it also provides some adequate possibilities, and served as a stepping stone for me to begin the site while developing some web design skills. I used BUILDING A WEB SITE FOR DUMMIES to help with beginning skills and to find answers to my many questions. I also found some useful sites by searching Google.com for "web design."
