Posted by AA on 3/6/2002, 12:08 am For language, I have done opposites presentations. The screen shows the picture and word for one half of the opposite pair. Then, I have the picture of the other half of the opposite pair come in to give the child a clue, if he does not get the answer right away. Then, the word comes in for the answer. I have used a similar format for synonyms. You can make self checking quizes by using the Action Buttons in a presentation. I had to buy a book on Power Point to figure that one out. For literature, I have seen people adapt books using Power Point. Since you can record your voice into the presentation, students can "read" the book using Power Point. There are lots of sites where you can download wav. files to add sound effects to presentations. My kids LOVE these!! There is a great article in the February/March issue of Closing the Gap about using Power Point as an educational tool.
For articulation, I go through the clip art in the Power Point files and clip art files on the web, and make presentations for a specific target sound.
