I know no one is as interested in what goes on in T.C. as I am. Though I feel compelled to tell you what happened. I attended a special city council meeting tonight where applicants for three Planning Commission and one Parks and Recreations Commission positions were interviewed. Three of the four positions were filled by TCHS grads, sadly two of those positions were filled by people who graduated in the very late 90's. How old does that make me feel! I went to a celebration for a Planning Commissioner (TCHS99) only to learn I was 30 years older than a former Miss Temple City who is now on Parks and Recreations also attending...even older than the parents of the Planning Commissioner.
I'll be attending the swearing in for my youthful friends and hope I can continue to give them my thoughts on what the city doesn't provide to elder adults not quite ready for senior citizen bonuses. I have voiced my concerns that the city provides for the children and the seniors over 65 but has nothing for childless adults between 18 and 65, their voting public.
