that's a good question - I met the lady who runs it when we were at the Apple Valley Animal Shelter picking out a few kittens last year - then a few days later there was a story in the paper about how she was having zoning problems with the County. If I'm not mistaken - she had relocated it out here from Colorado - but not sure why - I'd think Colorado would be a better climate for them. That's all I know. Sorry.
