this is located about 3 miles up the road (same street as us) but with the 2-10 acre parcels out here that's only about 15-20 houses away. Actually we knew they were doing this makeover (brand new spectacular home and wild rescued animal learning center) - it was in the newspaper but they had the roads (dirt like ours) all blocked off for about a month (it takes a lot longer than the one week depicted on the TV show). We could see the flood lights at night. The weather was horrendous during most of the construction - wind, rain, snow, hail. The crew in T-shirts had to have been filmed months in advance. The only time they asked for public participation was to head up there the night they all said "Move the bus" but I had a City Council meeting down the hill and we couldn't attend. It is really a great cause and quite a touching episode. There are several such animal rescue venues scattered around up here in the Phelan/Pinon Hills area including a grey wolf rescue ranch. Our neighbors two doors down (about 1/2 mile away) have a menagerie of wild birds, snakes, rabbits, dogs and horses that they train/handle and rent out to movie studios. They provided a dozen chickens for a Billy Idol music video last year (don't ask!)
