- LA City Council banned new fast food joints in South Central for 1 year .........while City Planners try to attract healthy food options for these poor unfortunates - have you priced fish and lettuce lately?
- LA City Council has banned plastic bags at grocery stores - will allow only paper after Jan 1 - and will require stores to collect a 25 cent tax for each paper bag issued. In a side story EPA just released a multi-year study on paper vs plastic - as it turns out plastic wins hands down environmentally despite it's petro origins cause it uses a fraction of the fuel as paper to produce, takes up less space in landfills, and biodegrates faster than paper - sum total - much smaller carbon footprint for plastic vs paper. Wait - wasn't it the envirocrats who introduced plastic bags in the 70's in order to save the forests from being depleted - right around the same time that climatologists were predicting another ice-age due to an alarming global cooling pattern since the 50's.
- Ex Governor Moon Beam Brown (current Cal Attorney General) is suing a No Cal County for negative environmental impacts from approving a permit for Nestle' to build a bottled water plant that will create hundreds of jobs and boost a depressed regional economy still recovering from environmental shutdowns of local the logging industry. Isn't it ironic that the elitist like Brown are the one's who actually made drinking bottled water fashionable and snickered at anyone who drank tap water.
- When a Hybrid car is plugged in for the night - where do you think the majority of the electricity comes from? How about coal and oil. Say what?
