Someone asked in a previous thread about Sonnie's absence from the MB.
In May of 2007 her beautiful daughter Natalie graduated with a BS in Natural Resources and was making plans to go to grad school. Natalie had been struggling with Aplastic Anemia for some time but started feeling really bad mid-November and was put into Intensive Care on Nov. 18th. They lost her from an intercranial hemmorage on Nov. 20th which happened to be Thanksgiving Day, Natalie's favorite holiday.
They had a memorial service on Nov. 25th at the Tucson house with about 100 people plus tons of people from the University from all levels of the educational chain. Totally blew them away to see how much Natalie had meant to people. They had another memorial service in San Carlos, Mexico, where they had taken her ashes.
I suggested for Sonnie to write about it and let her MB friends know but now that it's been 7+ months I doubt she will. She is just in another place right now, different priorities, different struggles. She probably won't be happy with me but I think she's wrong that people probably won't care. When its been up long enough to get some responses I'll email her and tell her to check out the MB. Someday we just might see her back on board.
