My fellow Green family members; I am a 6th great grandson of the Indian Gardner Green and I live in Boone Co. Mo.. I want to warn you about a recently published book called "We Are Not Yet Conquered. The History of the Northern Cherokee Nation of the Old Louisiana Territory." This book is not based on facts or documented history. One example; it has my 4th ggrandfather James Green as a man settling St Charles Mo. in 1799 and suggests some tie to Daniel Boone. The truth is that in 1799 James Green was a 10 year old boy living in Henry Co Ky.. James and his father Benjamin came to Boone Co. Mo. in 1831 from Henry Co. Ky. This can be easily proven. We need to continue to seek documentation on our Green family's native roots and do not just accept heresay or legands. It is looking like there could be connections to the Sizemore and Griffin families and the Saponi Confederacy of colonial Va. They have a migration route from Va. in the 1770's with Gardner Green to N. C. then S. C. with Benjamin Green (Gardner's son) breaking away in N. C. going to Sullivan Co. Tn. then to Ky. and Mo.. We need all of you to help locate documentation on this. Let's all work together to find the truth.
