dear cousin steve,eugene stephens nelson,my father.spencer seago stephens 1/2 cherokee and sarah 3/4 cherokee were teachers to the cherokee,spencer was 2nd lt union army indian home guard.buried fort gibson officers circle.i have a lot of info found on internet.spencer sided with union,a lot of cherokee sided with confiderates.didnt trust united states goverment,i wonder why?.....................
