Greetings! My name is Carrie! I am a senior at the University of arkansas, Fort Smith.I am trying to find records of my Cherokee background. My mother's maternal side of her family is Jackson, mostly from Oklahoma.I do know that I must be at least 1/4 Cherokee. I would really love to find my Cherokee ancestry. As a history major, I have aquired an interest in the frontier west of the Mississippi river. The treatment of the Native American peoples was intolerable, and the real truths should be known. I have a passion for writing, and do intned to extend one of my essays into a book. This essay concerns the Treaties that were repeadedly brokedn by the United states Government. There were only two Presedential administrations, in my opiion thus far, who were actually concerned with the integrity of the pluralistic values of all peoples in the new world. At the monment, for another class assigment, i am comparing Chrisitianity to the Cherokee religion. I am a Chrisitan, and have found similarities in the beliefs. If anyone has any thoughts on any of the topics I have mentioned, please email me. Thank you, and have a very, blessed day.
