My mother and Grandmother always told me that my name was Cherokee as well. It is my mother's and grandmother's middle name. They always said it meant morning star. I remember finding it in text once as a plains indian name and that it meant prairie flower. I would be interested in knowing what other responses you have recieved. It is so rare to find someone else with my name.
